DIY Headband Inspired by Taylor Swift Sewing

Taylor Swift Sewing

Hey everyone! Today’s video is inspired by a clip I saw of Taylor Swift sewing—yes, you heard right, Taylor Swift! It was so cool to see her sewing that it inspired the idea for this video. Watch my step by step tutorial HERE.

I’m guessing she made a headband, so today, we’ll do our best to recreate what Taylor Swift’s headband might look like. Headbands are great for a mother-and-daughter sewing project, especially with Mother’s Day coming up.

And just for fun, since it’s Mother’s Day weekend, Bella and I painted our nails to match Taylor’s from the video. We’ve got Swiftie fever, lol! If you’ve been watching my videos for a while, you will know I never paint my nails, but this lilac with ombre glitter was too much fun to pass up. What do you think? Should I start doing my nails more often?

Taylor Swift Sewing – The Details

I did my best to find the fabric Taylor used in the clip. Although I couldn’t locate the exact fabric, this Robert Kaufman Flowers on Tan I found at Joann is a close match.

We used KT414 Konfetti by Wonderfil Specialty Threads, a 50wt Egyptian Cotton for thread.

This project called for fun stitches, so I used the Juki DX7 Sewing Machine which was an incredible 287 stitches, including the fun daisy stitch that resembled the one Taylor used. The Juki DX7 was kindly loaned to me by Juki Junkies, you can find out more about it here.
