I’m excited to share that the second Mystery Block of the Month 2023 reveal is here, and we’ll be making the Double Pinwheel Quilt Block this month. Get your fabric and sewing machine ready, and let’s dive into this month’s block!
The Double Pinwheel Quilt Block consists of quarter square triangle units that create both a small and a large pinwheel, giving the block its name.
The Double Pinwheel Quilt Block is sometimes referred to as the Turnstile Quilt Block, due to its resemblance to a rotating gate found at amusement parks and other public places. However, I prefer to call it the Double Pinwheel Quilt Block, as that name better captures the appearance of the block to me.
This tutorial is free and everything you need to know to make the Double Pinwheel Quilt Block is listed here, including the link to my free YouTube tutorial.
About the Mystery Block of the Month
The Mystery Block of the Month is a small achievable project each month, once we have completed all 12 blocks we will use them to make a quilt top. The trick is making your block within the month so it stays a stress-free and fun quilting project.
If you are following along on the Mystery Block of the Month and would like to have the same fabric placement as me for all your blocks, check out this video HERE. You will find a copy of the Labels in the Pattern Library HERE.
