Hello, fellow quilters! I am thrilled to invite you to join me for our third annual Quilt Donation Drive to benefit children in foster care. Let’s come together to make a difference in these kids’ lives by creating beautiful and comforting quilts for National Foster Care Month in May 2023.

Why a Donation Quilt Drive

It’s heartbreaking to know that many kids in foster care receive their belongings in trash bags, which can be a humiliating experience. That’s why we’ve partnered with Comfort Cases to help make a difference. One of the items we provide for their cases is a cozy quilt, which can give these children a sense of security and comfort during a difficult time. Join us in our mission to spread kindness and warmth to kids in need!

What Quilts to Donate

We’re happy to receive any kid-friendly quilts you’d like to donate, feel free to use whatever quilt or blanket pattern you prefer.

Quilts for big kids should measure 50″ x 60″, and for babies, they should measure 30″ x 40″ according to Comfort Cases. If your quilts are slightly outside of these measurements, that’s okay too.

We kindly ask that you only use high-quality and appropriate fabrics for your donation quilts. Please choose fabrics that you would feel comfortable using for your own children or grandchildren so that we can ensure that the children receiving these quilts feel cherished and loved.

Each year I create two quick and easy quilt tutorials (that don’t include traditional binding) that are perfect to donate, this year they are:
