Hello, fellow quilters! I am thrilled to invite you to join me for our third annual Quilt Donation Drive to benefit children in foster care. Let’s come together to make a difference in these kids’ lives by creating beautiful and comforting quilts for National Foster Care Month in May 2023.
At the moment, I’m in the planning phase for this year’s event, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated once the dates are finalized and my new and easy-to-follow quilt patterns are available to share with you.
Why a Donation Quilt Drive
Making a quilt to donate to children in foster care is a simple but powerful way to make a difference in the life of a child.
Many children in the foster care system have experienced trauma and upheaval in their lives, and a cozy, comforting quilt can provide a sense of security and warmth during a difficult time.
Not only will your quilt provide physical comfort, but it can also offer emotional support, showing these children that someone cares about them and their well-being.
By making a donation quilt, you can help bring hope and joy to a child’s life and make a positive impact in your community. Join us in spreading love and kindness to those who need it most.
Quick & Easy Quilts to Donate
While you’re waiting for the finalized details, you may want to start working on your quilts to donate. To help you get started, here are four easy-to-follow quilt patterns from previous years that are perfect to donate.
Feel free to use any quilt or blanket pattern of your choice – we appreciate all donations that are suitable for children.
Quilts for big kids should measure 50″ x 60″, and for babies, they should measure 30″ x 40″ according to Comfort Cases. If your quilts are slightly different, that’s okay.
You may also like to add any items from the Comfort Cases’ recommended donation list to your package (LIST HERE).
We kindly ask that you only use high-quality and appropriate fabrics for your donation quilts. Please choose fabrics that you would feel comfortable using for your own children or grandchildren so that we can ensure that the children receiving these quilts feel cherished and loved.
