Hey everyone, I am so excited to reveal the first block we will be doing as part of the Mystery Block of the Month 2022 – the Dream Weaver Block!
The Dream Weaver Block is a really simple block to make, the tricky part is just making sure you sew the pieces together in the right order, which I will show you exactly how to do in my step-by-step tutorial.

This tutorial is free and everything you need to know to make the Dream Weaver Block is listed here, including the link to my free YouTube tutorial.
A PDF pattern with full printable instructions is available to purchase on my Etsy Store at a nominal fee.

It helps to refer to this image and understand exactly how the pieces fit together, creating the illusion of a weave.

DREAM WEAVER BLOCK CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
To make this block you will need five different fabrics.
With one fabric cut: 4 x 3ยฝ’ x 3ยฝ”
With the other four fabrics cut: 1 x3ยฝ’ x 3ยฝ” & 1 x3ยฝ” x 6ยฝ”
Please watch my video for full instructions on how to make the Dream Weaver Block:
This block is part of my Mystery Block of the Month, you might like to check out the next block, The Love Squared Block.

Love the simplicity of this square! So many possibilities! Thanks!
Thanks so much Catherine ๐
Will it look good to use the same colour fabrics for each block?
Hi Janet, I really think it’s a personal choice. I will use 8 different fabrics, so it will be a mix of the same fabrics used in different blocks, but all fabrics won’t be in every block (I hope that makes sense). It would also be fun to just use scrap fabric and make them all different.
Thanks for this fun block of the month. Look forward to the others!
Thanks so much Gerry ๐

Suggestions on cutting your first strips? Cut wof.
Thank you
Hi Debi, yes cut a 3.5″ strip off the width of fabric, from that cut the two pieces from each of the fabrics. Then save whatever is left over as it will be used.

That was fun. Are all blocks going to be the same โDream Weaverโ pattern? With a mixture of the same 8 fabrics? I enjoy your videos so much, very simply explained and easy to follow. I have referred several friends to your you tube videos!
Will each block be completing with the same fabric or different fabric every month?
Hi Donna, you can really use whatever fabric you would like. I am using 8 different fabrics that will be used to make all 12 blocks. Not every fabric will be in every block. I hope that makes sense ๐
Thank you for the mystery block. Looking forward to seeing the next.
Awesome Johanna, thanks so much for joining in ๐

This was fun! I want to know more about how to press the seams correctly, I usually press towards dark and if it’s not in the directions I can get confused.
Hi Peggy, that’s exactly right. Press towards the dark unless stated otherwise in the instructions ๐
Late getting started. Just had back surgery and need something to distract me from the pain. This looks like it’s just what I need.
Oh no Kathleen, I hope you have a speedy recovery. My husband has had two spinal surgeries, so I know how hard that can be. These blocks are easy and quick to make. It will be a perfect project for you โบ๏ธ
