Fondant Covered Sugar Cookies are one of my favorite things to bake, they are so versatile and can be made for any theme imaginable. They are also very easy to package and gift.

When I lived in Australia I was a self-taught cake decorator, you can see some of my work here. So today I am going to share with you my super easy and really delicious fail-proof Sugar Cookie recipe, and I will show you how I decorate them with Fondant.

TO MAKE FONDANT COVERED SUGAR COOKIES YOU WILL NEED
- Mixer
- Rolling Pin for cookie dough
- Rolling Pin for fondant (optional)
- Cookie Tray
- Sifter
- Spatula
- Dusting Cup (optional)
- Fondant you can also buy smaller packets
- Cookie Cutters I used these ones
- Parchment paper
- Gel Food coloring
- Skewer or toothpick

INGREDIENTS FOR SUGAR COOKIES
- 1 Stick or 125 grams of unsalted butter, room temperature
- ¾ Cup sugar
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 Egg
- 2 Cups of standard plain flour

Love this technique! I see it quite a bit lately. My question is however, do people eat the fondant? I know many will remove it from cake before eating because they don’t care for the taste.
I think it is delicious on cookies, but I guess that is personal preference ☺️
